After reading Wired I was curious about what else could be in the author's mind prepared for Kira Miller and David Desh. I should say that I was totally shocked by the course of the plot since the Alien Story was something that gave me some doubts about what was coming. Had the author turned into a such a plot out of the blue? Where was the reality that was so well substantiated in the previous book? Still I was too much engagaged and could only wait to the end to find out what was behind this surrealistic idea. And I was totally compensated by the end of the story where every part of the puzzle was put in the right place completing a wonderful story and a second book of this sequel that was as good as the first one. I truly recommend this book.

This is the second installment in the "wired" series and just as dazzling as the first novel. This novel grabs the reader and never lets go, and combines excellent characterizations, fast-moving plot, and brilliant scientific speculation. This all comes together to make this a highly readable novel that most readers will not be able to put down. I know that I could not.My only criticism of this novel is that it really had almost too many twists and turns. There were one or 2 of these twists and turns that I think could have been done away with without compromising the main story. However, this is a mild criticism and many readers will not agree with me. This one is a page turner and truest meaning of the term and I can highly recommend it. RJB.

After "Wired" this book was a bit of a let-down. Still well-written, still interesting, but just felt like it was "trying too hard." Though the author tied up the story at the end, while reading it, I felt it was straining my ability to believe it. And while the object of the operation was credible, the path there was incredible and I feel that a different route and maybe another book might have better served the story. The resolution felt a bit rushed and contrived. Still gave it 4 stars though, because it's failings only stand out in comparison to it's predecessor and to Infinity Born. Still recommend the series and the author as well worth reading.

Amped picks up where Wired left off and this volume is jam packed full of twists and turns, action, betrayal and plenty of philosophical head scratchers that I found myself up late at night thinking through their implications. It is these nuggets of intellectual insight that I love best about this book. One of my favorite examples, and one that still haunts me, involves a man who dies, goes to the afterlife and can pursue his wildest dreams for all eternity - but eternity can be a long time and the end of this tale is chilling. This anecdote is just one of many that are well woven and infused into Amped whose plot is rich but implications are far reaching. Some reviewers note they figured out the end, and I admit I did as well, but it wasn't until I was well into the book and at the end of the day, so what! This was a great read and one I'll be revisiting and talking about with friends and family for some time.Great stuff. Bring on this next one!

AMPED is the amazing sequel to Wired which was one of my favorite books of 2011. As soon as I learned that AMPED was out for purchase I immediately went online and bought it for my kindle. Suffice it to say AMPED is at the top of my list for 2012 and I have read some fantastic books this year. Like in Wired, the quality of the writing, the sophistication of the storyline and the depth of the characters in AMPED are second to none. Mr. Richards has earned a place among the masters!In AMPED, Mr. Richards continues to create a genre of his own that combines mystery/thriller with cutting edge science and science fiction. It is an amazing thrill ride for the reader but it also makes the reader think about how far science can go before it becomes a detriment to society.In AMPED, we are once again reunited with Kira, David and Matt as they create a network of scientists working to take their discovery to the next level. Yet someone seems to be a step ahead of them at every turn. Once again the reader must try to decipher who is telling the truth and who are the good and bad guys. Be sure you have time to read the whole book when you sit down because you will not be able to put it down (also remember to breathe).The combination of amazing research, an amazing writing style, an impeccable sense of timing and one the most creative minds in the industry makes AMPED a book you must not miss. To create such an amazing book, Mr. Richards was surely WIRED and AMPED.
