The maps are not very clear to detail and are better found on the internet where one can blow them up and look closer.I was disappointed with the maps for Eastern Europe in general. K

I bought this book "used" from Bellweather Books simply to help me when I am reading a book that makes reference to areas from long ago. I was stunned at how gorgeous the maps are, and had to peruse it page by page. The best part for me is that the maps are identified by date, then placed in chronological order. I am thrilled with this book and will use it frequently especially when I have my DNA tested.

Exactly what I needed! After reading a book on the Napoleonic wars etc, it was difficult the assess the boundaries of each country. This book is perfect. Maps are categorized by time, so you can flip the pages and see the changes. It is not meant to be a detail map of cities etc. For that you can see it on Google map. But if you want to see for example, how France, Germany etc looked like in 1871?, this is the book for you!

This book has many maps but some are so small that they are unusable. Still, if you are doing genealogical research n old Europe, this is invaluable.

I really like this book, it is helpful. It does not have every map for every country during every period. Boundaries have changed multiple times over the years. But I have found the book does have a lot of good maps. Great place to start, it may be all you need, you may possibly need to use this along with other sources, depending on your needs. I would certainly recommend this book for any genealogist that is researching Europe.

This is *not* adapted for Kindle. Wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing. The maps are completely illegible on an iPad Pro. Going to write for a refund.

This will be a useful reference as I try to trace the steps of my ancestors. However, I will need to use my magnifying glass to read the maps.

This is a very useful of compendium of historic maps. I would like to see more maps and the same maps with greater detail, but I am grateful that somebody found these maps and collected them into a single source book.
