an useless book.

Not worth the money for this short version of a book that has little to no real information contained in its pages. I guess I know why this book was available when others are not published yet.

I started reading this book over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised at the well though out content structure. It is important to note that this book gives an very good overview of the Cloud in its official definition as well as Oracle's take on the cloud product offering as implemented in Enterprise Manager 12c. EM12 is a complete redo of Oracle's Management And monitoring offering and cloud is a very important aspect that shows in the product. The Book Walks you thru the concept of the cloud as well as touches on IaaS as well as Paas. Some of the interesting things are the Consolidation planner as well as the chargeback model that is integrated into the product. The book delves deeply into those concepts and while is a bit lacking in case studies or real work examples is definitely a good place ot start to understand Oracle's Cloud Management for a private internal clouds . It talks about Virtualization using Oracle's OVM as well as independent consolidation efforts using bare metal or DBaaS in context of provisioning and management. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is starting out with EM12c and wants to build a case for better management of existing as well as new hardware and provide chargeback back to their customers.

Good book. Self-service provisioning section was very well described in the book. I would definitely like to read more about it.
