I purchased this picture book originally to read to my grandchildren when they came to visit and were taking a nap. They so love the book, I decided to pick up a second copy to give my daughter. That way, they can read the book every night before bedtime.The illustrations are lovely as I would expect from Mary Engelbreit. They are bright and cute and really catch the little ones attention. Some of the pages have prayers and others do not. It's a nice mix of story book and prayer book.

Most of the bedtime and stories are endearing, but the ones about monsters are not appropriate. My past experience with my children having stories about monsters under their beds did NOT result in peaceful sleep.

I am a lifelong fan of Mary Engelbreit and love all of her books and merchandise. I have enjoyed introducing my son to all of her work. This was why I was so excited to buy this book. I have recently bought her illustrated fairy tales and he loves them. The pictures in this book were lovely and charming; exactly what I would expect from Ms. Engelbreit. However, I was a little disappointed because this book has quite a few religious notes to it. It mentions praying and things of that nature throughout. While I certainly understand that this might be a part of many people's bedtime routine, and I certainly don't begrudge her for incorporating these themes in her book, I wish that the description of the book would have mentioned the religious nature. So while the book is lovely, I don't feel like it was accurately described. If I had been made aware, I would have picked one of her many other classics to share with my son.

I have MANY Mary Engelbreit books but this one is beyond my exceptions!!! It has SO many stories and the illustrations are outstanding. It's a REAL KEEPER that kids will want to see & read over and over.

The book is beautiful—very well illustrated. The writing is good, too. Glad I got it...it’s a gift. The only thing I was taken back by was that it’s kind of large...not the amount of pages, but the dimensions. I definitely would buy it again.

A beautiful collection of short stories perfect for bedtime! I even sing some of these as lullabies. My little one LOVES the illustrations as well!

Mary's usual wonderful art work plus the stories are very sweet. It's for a baby gift and I'm sure it will be a big hit.
