Probably the best book I have read this year! The stories are amazing! Hard to put the book down. I just wanted to keep reading it. Has given me such a love for my Christian brothers and sisters who not only are being killed and persecuted for their faith - but who are choosing to stay and share Christ with their fellow countrymen, knowing it will cost them their life. They are my heroes! And then to read their letters to us, their fellow believers, encouraging us not to feel sorry for them, but to pray for them. This book has greatly increased my prayers for my brothers and sisters around the world!I originally bought and read the book, then purchased several audiobooks - one for myself and others as gifts. Would highly recommend!

For more than 25years I have been praying for the Lord to give dreams and visions of Jesus Christ as the Son of God to those Muslims who prayed for Wisdom and Truth. I did so because I had been given that prayer to pray, yet for all these years I had done so as a sacred duty.No more!! Recently several pieces of information, including this book came to me which opened my eyes. To pray the prayer, even as a sacred duty, is too abstract, too impersonal. These who are willing to die for Christ, a gift we in the western world cannot conceive, are certainly worthy our earnest prayers, salted with true tears of love and compassion.We, in our comfort, without threat of loss for serving the Lord of all, how will we answer our Lord on judgement day, for not praying for those to whom a martyrs death is a daily reality?Let us awake and remember those in chains of bondage, as if bound with them, for they find time to pray for us.

This book hits hard. Recalling the horrible events these believers are enduring for Jesus, makes me teary eyed again. Jesus is actively reaching into the Muslim world. The individuals in this book had unique introductions to Jesus, most by dreams or visions. We follow their story of accepting Jesus and their joy in attempting to share the gospel to give hope to others who have no hope at all in their Muslim cultures. For some, that joy slips quickly to eternal joy. Life is short, death is brutal for these new believers in Christ. Jesus does not forsake them as they face off with those who want to murder them. Such examples of boldness for Christ! And genuine love for those who have been blinded by hate and lies. Each chapter provides a way that we, safely ensconced in the west, can assist these persecuted believers through specific prayer. Tom Doyle has provided an in depth look at the lives of several former Muslims and the peril they find themselves in from the moment they consider learning about Jesus, until the moment their time on earth ends. What he has captured are pictures of pure love for Christ, love that is more than willing to deny an earthly life rather than deny Jesus' love. The faith of these persecuted believers that live in death's shadow puts our western faith to shame.

This book is great! It revealed to me the things we take for granted here (US) & made me think about my salvation. "Would I go as far as risking my own life for Jesus?" Here in the US relationships, drugs, alcohol, etc. are some big deal breakers to getting saved or salvation taken so lightly people will claim to be a christian with no real relationship with God or sacrifice. The people in this book take their time to examine Christians and examine what God can do, because this a big decision. They're risking their lives. There can be no gray area, only black & white.The testimonies in this book are also very encouraging! As I was reading this I started to think " If God can do "that" for them, He can do "this" for me, my chruch, city, and people in my life" He is the same yesterday, today & forever. If he did it before he can do it again!!I will recommend this book to everyone I know.

These testimonies will shock and inspire you! This is a MUST book for all Western Christians!Having served in the M.E. for fifteen years I've seen the heavy opposition our brothers and sisters from Muslim backgrounds face . . . but most of us Westerners haven't a clue. The Church is not what comes into most of our minds when the word is mentioned, i.e., a nice white building with nicely dressed Westerners flowing in and out to meetings. No! The real Church includes those whose story is told by Tom Doyle. READ THIS--we may all need these testimonies one day when suffering comes to the West. (As I write this my American friend is in prison in the M.E. for his faith). You may also have a Muslim friend with whom to share it!

He had not heard of the book, obviously, the book just came out last week! :) So this morning as I was driving to work I thought of the people I spoke with and The Lord impressed on me to buy this book for them.....and so I will!!Cannot wait to read Tom Doyle's other book about Dreams and in the meantime I just want to say that I have set up my alarm to go off at 8:38pm every night and last night for the first time I prayed for my brothers and sisters in the Middle East and Somalia. Loved this book!
