I have been waiting for this book to arrive and I am very happy to be holding it in my hands, now. I wanted a book that would be a good quick reference that I can grab when I want to do something with all the herbs I grow. And I wanted a deeper source of reference for using herbs for health and healing. The book is everything I hoped it would be and more. Deliciously designed, it's a joy to read. Well done! Herbs are key to a better, healthier life and The Homesteaders Herbal Companion by Amy Fewell, will help you understand the connection.

This is a very well written book. It is clear and concise. I enjoyed this book very much and it has earned a place on my reference book shelf. I will be sure to look into buying any other books written by Amy K.Fewell.

I am so thrilled to have bought this book! Not only did it have the various characteristics of individual herbs like most herbal books have, but it goes into various usages for them and how to properly prepare them to be beneficial for your homestead. There are detailed outlines to make medicinal, culinary and household preparations for both humans and animals, and absolutely gorgeous photographs to accompany the descriptions. The author makes her readers engage with her lighthearted style and obvious experience she has working with her subject. I look forward to springtime when my herb gardens are flourishing so I can fully experience making the many recipes and projects Amy fewell has shared!

This book is everything I hoped it would be and more. Amy explains the herbs in a way that anyone can understand them and feel confident using them. I love that the book explains the herbs individually and includes a picture of each one. Amy further explains the uses for the herbs with your family and your livestock. There are plenty of recipes included for family use, livestock use, cleaning, cooking, and more. She also includes helpful essential oil information. I would suggest this book to anyone interested in incorporating natural remedies and cleaning in their home.

Can't put it down. Has recipes and tips for everything you need to be self sufficient and holistic.

I've been at this a while and have a good sized library of books on herbs, but if I had had this book in the beginning of my herbal adventure it might well have been my ONLY book. The best, most comprehensive, easiest to understand book on the proper use of herbs I have ever read, especially the information on tinctures. YOU NEED THIS BOOK!

This book is fabulous! It answers so many of the questions I had about growing and using herbs. I learn something new on every page! It sure beats searching google and Pinterest to find answers (and finding tons of conflicting info). The author is knowledgeable and her writing style is very friendly. Thanks for a great reference book I will use for years!
